Dr. Aron Gonshor PhD, DDS, FRCD(C), FAO -  President & CEO


Dr. Aron Gonshor is a PhD Physiologist and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has published and lectured extensively on implant therapy and the use of stem cell technology in tissue grafting. For over 14 years he headed the clinical advisory and educational boards of both Ace Surgical and Surgical Science Systems, providers of surgical equipment and regenerative biomaterials. His interest and expertise in the fast- growing area of salivary diagnostics led him to create FLUIDS iQ®, a company specializing in the use of saliva and other body fluids as testing mediums. He now lectures extensively on the biological foundations of intestinal permeability and salivary hormone analysis.

 

Ben Gonshor - Vice President


Mr. Gonshor is a marketing and communications specialist with a broad range of experience including working for a major Hollywood movie studio; developing multi-million dollar sponsorship programs with Canada’s top financial institutions and leading private corporations such as Saputo, Delmar, Peerless Clothing, Dorel, Power Corporation, Reitmans and Sun Life; and collaborating on high profile projects with Canada’s foremost arts organizations, such as The Stratford Festival, The National Arts Centre and The Montreal International Jazz Festival.  

 

David Lesser - Chief Financial Officer


Mr. Lesser is a chartered accountant with extensive, hands-on experience in sales and distribution businesses. He is a partner in the accounting firm of Crowe BGK, which offers a full range of accounting and consulting services that includes auditing, accounting, taxation, management consulting, government incentives, source financing, investment counseling and counter-fraud related services. With offices in Montreal and Ottawa, Crowe BGK has over 100 firm members servicing clients across Quebec and Ontario, and around the world.

 

Larry Markowitz – Business & Legal Affairs


Mr. Markowitz is an experienced, award-winning business lawyer with a strong international network and a broad range of experience both investing in and advising a variety of entrepreneurial ventures. He is a frequent speaker at international legal conferences and has taught at McGill University, University of Ottawa and abroad.  Mr. Markowitz is co-author of the Loi sur la concurrence annotée, an annotated version of the Competition Act (Canada), and the Manuel de droit de la concurrence.

Dr. Leigh Arseneau HBSc, ND, FMP

 

Dr. Leigh Arseneau is a Naturopathic Physician, who specializes in Functional Medicine. Based in Ontario, he is the Director of the Centre for Advanced Medicine, the Chief Naturopathic Physician for the Canadian Center for Integrative Medicine and a Medical Advisor for the Centre for Restorative Medicine. Dr. Arseneau has co-authored several research papers on the benefits of Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy, essential fatty acids, thyroid treatment and integrative pain management. He has also conducted over 100 lectures for patients and physicians alike and has appeared as a guest speaker on national and local television broadcasts. With an emphasis on understanding research-based mechanisms of disease to restore health using integrative medical strategies, he sees a wide variety of complex health concerns and has been practicing Functional Medicine for the past 11 years.

 

 Dr. Yvan Dumais DVM, Dipl. AVDC, FAVD


Dr. Dumais graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Montreal in 1979. He became a specialist in veterinary dentistry in 1999 (Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College). He is a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and has worked in several veterinary centers in Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec. He currently teaches veterinary dentistry at the University of Montreal.

 

Dr. George Karakitsos DDS, MSc


Dr. Karakitsos has practiced over 15 years as a general dentist. He was also the co-founder of the first European Dental Pulp Stem Cell bank and oral DNA examination company specializing in salivary diagnostic products for human periodontal disease.. He has contributed to collaborative projects with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki-Department of Endodontology, mainly related to cell isolation and culture from dental pulp. He is also a dental laser specialist.

Robert Buck, PhD


Robert Buck is a biochemist with over thirty years experience in the field of medical diagnostics. During the course of his career he has worked with and for numerous companies and clinical laboratories in the areas of therapeutic drug analysis, female and male fertility, drugs of abuse, environmental analysis of pesticides and heavy metals, and biomarkers of Stress and Injury. He has also worked extensively in alternative fluid analysis (saliva, urine, vaginal fluid) and possesses a wide level of experience in multiple diagnostic platforms including Lateral Flow, EIA, FPIA, FIA,, HPLC, as well as many manual and automated wet chemistries. He has developed and obtained FDA clearancefor over 40 diagnostic products, inventor on seven US patents and numerous foreign and US applications. and successfully brought the first American over the counter (OTC) fertility test to market.

 

A retired U.S. Army Reserve/National Guard officer, Dr. Buck currently is the owner of Geofluor, a consulting/private laboratory and independent biotechnology contractor. Dr. Buck is also an Adjunct Faculty member in the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

 

Steve Meed MD, FACR

Dr. Steven D. Meed is an internist and rheumatologist. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine as well as maintaining a private practice in New York City. He has also trained in Integrative Medicine and is a practicing acupuncturist.  He has lectured extensively in the fields of Rheumatology and the treatment of Fatigue Syndromes and Fibromyalgia. Dr. Meed, earned his medical degree from New York University, did his residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and his fellowship in Rheumatology at NYU.

 

Dr. Chamindie Punyadeera
Dr. Punyadeera is Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Sciences, Queensland University of Technology (Australia). A clinical chemist, her doctoral research investigated the pathogenesis and clinical manifestation of type 2 Diabetes, ischemic heart disease and obesity. Her post-doctoral research focused on endometrium physiology, steroid hormone pharmacokinetics and oncology. She has worked at Philips Research High Tech Campus in the Netherlands as a senior scientist, where she led a project team on biosensor development and biomarker discovery. She has published over 45 research papers, 14 PCT patents and served as key-note lecturer at major international conferences. She is also on the editorial boards of: Austin, Biomarkers and Diagnosis; Associate Editor to the Journal of Dento Medical Science; Conference Papers in Medicine; Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Disease; The Journal of Acute Disease; Journal of  Steroids & Hormonal Science; Insight Biochemistry and Asian Council of Science Editors.

Dr. Punyadeera is currently leading a research team investigating the diagnostic potential of saliva and developing novel assays in saliva for cardiovascular diseases and cancers.

Dr. Paul D. Slowey PhD
Paul D. Slowey is founder and CEO of Oasis Diagnostics® Corporation. He has held positions as Director of International Sales for OraSure Technologies Inc., and Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Saliva Diagnostic Systems (NY, NY). These companies were the pioneers in the development of saliva diagnostic rapid tests for infectious disease, and oral fluid collection devices. Dr. Slowey was also Director of the International Business Division of Incstar Corporation, a subsidiary of the Italian Company Sorin BioMedica, (now DiaSorin) and Executive Vice President of Hema Diagnostic Systems [Miami FL]. Dr Slowey is a Director of Bridgeford College in Kampala Uganda, a new teaching college and a Founder Member of CradleRock Canada, a Company providing diagnostic tools into sub-Saharan Africa.  A member of the American Society for Human Genetics and the New York Academy of Sciences, he has extensive experience in structuring strategic alliances and license agreements with both start-up and Fortune 500 companies.  Dr. Slowey holds 14 issued US and International patents with an additional 10 applications in process.
